I V

Birthdays.

It really is only fun as a kid, or if you have kids. I tried having cartoon themed parties as an adult, but it ended up just making me realize I really am older - trying to cling on to youthful muzements.

It's All About Massive Attack.

The Mezzanine Album rocks my socks.

I saw them perform at the Hollywood Bowl back in 2006 I think it was...and it was a rad live show. Anyway, thought I'd just make a public note about them.

Send your ears on a little trip:
-exchange
-man next door
-teardrop (a very popular song )

Exchange is my favorite.

Close your eyes and you're there. Just like that.

Blind Leading The Blind.

"Thud, thud," then, "that's right, good job,"  continuing, "uh huh, uh huh," and more "thud, thud." I looked out my window and saw 4 people, one of which was wearing what resembled a blind fold & THUMPING at the front of my car, while the OPEN -EYED man was joyfully cheering, "good job!"

In my neighborhood, its been normal to see groups of people leading those who are visually impaired around the block. Its also normal for them to beat around the walls, trees, fences, and APPARENTLY MY CAR. I always yield, always take my dog on the street, and am always considerate of others, trying not to disrupt whatever they're doing. BUT I just had to say something. So, as their "progress" was happening, I laughed and said, "hey man, please not on my car...that's my car man." THEN the NOT so visually impaired guy replied, "we're just getting to know the area."

WOW.

Whatever I guess. I'll be a good sport, it's for a good cause, right?! They were on my property, beating my parked car, and yet, I felt like the mook.

Summer is great so far.

Toad In The Hole.

Thank you to all the chickens who've laid such incredibly fulfilling eggs.  Not only have they provided me with about "6 grams of high quality protein & about 9 essential amino acids," "naturally occurring Vitamin D," but something to decorate & hunt for during Easter, oh, AND, something to scramble & boil anytime of the day, AND for the perfect shell to fill with confetti & bash on my friends' heads during childhood, AAAND for something great to eat with my breakfast during the many late night visits to my favorite diners. Health Benefits of Eggs

The list of benefits from eggs can and will go on. Here is my "ode to."

If you haven't had this classic recipe, "Toad In The Hole," now is the time.

-slice of toasted bread (the thicker the better)
-egg
-pepper & salt to taste but not necessary

After lightly toasting a slice of bread, cut a hole in the middle. Keep the circular piece of bread on a plate aside. Return to sliced & now "holey" bread. Place bread on medium heated pan, slightly buttered is acceptable. Crack egg into the circular space in the bread. Fry until desired texture, then turn. Fry to taste. Place cooked slice on the plate you've set aside. Feel free to butter or jam that circular piece of bread.

Best served with a freshly squeezed mug of orange juice, or grapefruit juice.

Anytime is the right time for breakfast.
